I recently purchased an awning from Excel Awning and Shade. The awning purpose was to provide shade and protection from rain for my patio, which is about 18’ x 13’. I am highly satisfied with my purchase. The awning extends and retracts at the push of a button. The height is easily adjustable and there is a backup twist rod that allows the awning to retract in case of power loss. I went with the silica dune fabric. It provides excellent shade as well as a fantastic job keeping the area under the awning dry from rain. The rain just beads up on the fabric and runs right down the shade.
From the moment I contacted Ron, he treated me very respectfully and always provided a sense of urgency with his responses. He came out to my house and discussed my options. He was always responsive throughout the entire process, and afterwards as well. The awning installation took a few hours; it looks amazing. Over the next week, a couple of issues crept up. To my extreme satisfaction, Ron and his crew promptly took care of the two issues and it has been smooth sailing ever since. I will absolutely recommend Excel Awning and Shade to anyone looking for an awning.

The service was excellent. Ron is very professional and prompt, he came over to talk to us, take measures and give us a bid the day after I first contacted him. Within 2 weeks, we had our awning installed. The color that Ron recommended looks great and matches the stucco of our house perfectly. Our patio seems so much roomier now that we have shade and can actually enjoy it! We love how easy it is to operate the shade with the remote control (my kids love this). I absolutely love my new awning and shade. The awning has made the pool area so pleasant in the Houston summer weather! The Shade is fabulous as well as we can actually sit without the glare inside the family room and kitchen and enjoy TV with out total glare!

I really liked that it felt family-operated, really giving customers that personal touch. Ron came to my house and we sat and chatted about it. This is definitely a luxury item for our family, but for south Texas lakefront property, you just can't be outside too long without protection. Even though we haven't built a house there yet, we do go out there to enjoy the water and this awning does everything it claims to do. If the wind gets up too high, it automatically retracts as a safety precaution. It also has a great warranty on the mechanical and fabric aspects. I couldn't ask for anything better.
